The BC Learning Centres for Children with Dyslexia is dedicated to helping children with dyslexia reach their full potential.
For children with dyslexia - a learning disorder that affects the ability to read, spell, write and speak - learning to read is a momentous challenge.
As part of an impressive network of over eight learning centres across Canada established in 2008, the BCLCCD provides access to:
  • Specialized, one-on-one, multi-sensory learning support
  • A safe and welcoming space
  • Orton-Gillingham approach to tutoring and learning
  • A focus on reading fluency, progressive world-level reading spelling
The BCLCCD serves to ensure that in our community every child is provided with the strong foundation of literacy that they deserve.
Help a child learn to read today!
Your support will provide children and their families with free access to resources and support.
Equitable access for all children is an important pillar of the BCLCCD's work. Support is extended to families facing economic or socio-economonic hardship, including indigenous peoples.
Help support us on our mission to ensure that children in BC are able to reach their full potential.
Early diagnosis makes things clearer.
Early assessment and support can serve to "unlock" a child's potential and result in wonderful outcomes.
The BCLCCD provides free access to critical assessments that facilitate early diagnosis.
Left unsupported, children with dyslexia are at risk of not reaching their full potential - their talents, intelligence and creativity often go unnoticed as a result of the literacy barriers they face. Dyslexia impacts the processing of information, but not intelligence or potential itself.
